The documents that only matter twice a year
Passports, birth certificates, insurance schedules, the boiler warranty. Filed in folders, given an expiry date, and findable by the person who needs it, not only by the person who filed it. Every file and every folder has an audience (everyone, some people, or just you), so a passport can be yours alone in a drawer the whole house shares.
Renewals for everything, not just the car
Anything with a date on it can have a reminder: the passport that expires before the summer holiday, the insurance that auto-renews at a worse price, the annual boiler service. Photograph the document or drop in the PDF and the renewal date is read off it for you.
Where the documents live
Encrypted, and readable only by the people in your household you choose. Nothing in Files is reachable by a link. We do not sell data and we do not show ads, so there is nothing we would gain from looking. The privacy policy says this in plain English.

About records and renewals
Where is the MOT data from?
From the DVSA and DVLA services that publish MOT and vehicle tax status against a registration. The app looks it up so you do not have to.
When am I reminded?
A month before and a week before, for the MOT and the road tax, and the dates sit on the family calendar as well. Renewals have their own notification switch, so you can have them without anything else.
What can I keep in Files?
Anything with a date or a reason to keep it: passports, birth certificates, insurance schedules, warranties, the boiler service record. Photograph it or add the PDF, put it in a folder, and give it an expiry date if it has one. When the date comes round, it reaches Today.
Can it read the date off a document for me?
Yes. Photograph the document or drop in the PDF and the renewal date is read off it and set for you. Check it, and it is done.
Who in the house can see a file?
Whoever you choose. Every file and every folder has an audience: everyone, some people, or just you. A passport can be yours alone inside a folder the whole house shares.
Is my passport scan safe in there?
It is encrypted, and visible only to the people in your household you choose. Nothing in Files is reachable by a link. You can delete everything at any time; the privacy policy says exactly how.
Are cars and files part of Basic?
Cars with the MOT and road tax lookup, records and Files are part of Pro.
