Lists and meals

The list is the same list, wherever you are standing.

Shared shopping lists, to-dos, a recipe box and a weekly meal plan that knows what the week needs from the shop.

From the week’s recipes to the trolley

Plan the week from the recipe box and ask for the shopping. Every ingredient the planned recipes need comes back as one list, the same ingredient in two recipes merged into one line, and anything already sitting on a list left out. You add what you need, so nothing lands on a real list that is already in the cupboard. Try it above with the traybake.

  • The same ingredient in two recipes becomes one line
  • Anything already on a list is skipped, and so is the salt
  • Tick items off in the shop and everyone sees it happen

As many lists as the house needs

The weekly shop, the DIY list, the things to pack, the jobs nobody wants. Every list has its own screen, items can be given to someone and given a date, and the whole thing can be archived when the trip is over. Lists are free.

A recipe box that is yours

Save the things you cook, with the notes that make them work: which shelf, how long, and the fact that Alfie will not eat peppers. Or let the box read a recipe for you. Photograph the page of a cookbook, or paste a link, and it lands in the editor for you to check before it is saved. Recipes belong to the household, not to whoever typed them in.

Questions

About lists and meals

Do lists update while I am in the shop?

Yes. Changes sync as they happen, and anything ticked off while you are offline is sent as soon as you have signal again.

How many lists can we have?

As many as the house needs. The weekly shop, the DIY list, the packing list, the jobs nobody wants. Each has its own screen, items can be given to someone and given a date, and a list can be archived when it is done with.

How does the shopping list get built?

Plan the week from the recipe box, then ask for the shopping. Every ingredient the planned recipes need comes back as one list, the same ingredient in two recipes merged into a single line, and anything already on a list left out. You add what you need; it never puts food on a real list by itself.

Can it read a recipe from a book or a website?

Yes. Photograph the page, or paste a link, and the ingredients and method are read into the recipe box for you to check before saving. Anything it was unsure of is listed at the top so you can fix it in a second.

Does the assistant help with meals?

Ask it what to cook and it looks at what you had recently, suggests something for a bit of variety, and offers to put it on the plan. From there it can build the shopping list for the week.

Is the meal planner free?

The lists are. The meal planner, the recipe box and the shopping list built from the week are part of Pro.
